Ramesseum, Theban Necropolis, Luxor, Egypt - July 27, 2022: The Ramesseum is the memorial temple (or mortuary temple) of Pharaoh Ramesses II. It is located in the Theban Necropolis in Upper Egypt, on the west of the River Nile, across from the modern city of Luxor. The name – or at least its French form Rhamesséion – was coined by Jean-François Champollion, who visited the ruins of the site in 1829 and first identified the hieroglyphs making up Ramesses's names and titles on the walls.

Point detail of the Obelisk of Luxor in Place de la Concorde. The Place de la Concorde (French: 'Concord Square') is one of the major public squares in Paris, France. \nThe centrepiece of the place is an ancient Egyptian obelisk decorated with hieroglyphics exalting the reign of the pharaoh Ramesses II. It is one of two which the Egyptian government gave to the French in the 19th century. The other one stayed in Egypt, too difficult and heavy to move to France with the technology at that time. On September 26, 1981, President François Mitterrand formally returned the title of the second obelisk to Egypt. The obelisk once marked the entrance to the Luxor Temple.

Valley of the Kings, Luxor, Egypt - July 22, 2022: Tomb KV6 is the final resting place of the 20th-Dynasty Pharaoh Ramesses IX. However, the archaeological evidence and the quality of decoration it contains indicates that the tomb was not finished in time for Ramesses's death but was hastily rushed through to completion, many corners being cut, following his demise.\n\nIt is located in the central part of the Valley. Running a total distance of 105 metres into the hillside, the tomb begins with a gate and a shallow descending ramp. Following on from the ramp come three successive stretches of corridor. The first of these has four side chambers – two on each side – but none of these are decorated or finished. KV6 has been open since antiquity, as can be seen by the graffiti left on its walls by Roman and Coptic visitors.

The Longmen Grottoes, located on bothsides of the Yi River to the south of the ancient capital of Luoyang, Henan province, comprise more than 2,300 caves and niches carved into the steep limestone cliffs over a 1km long stretch. These contain almost 110,000 Buddhist stone statues, more than 60 stupas and 2,800 inscriptions carved on steles. The grottoes and niches of Longmen contain the largest and most impressive collection of Chinese art of the late Northern Wei and Tang Dynasties (316-907). These works, entirely devoted to the Buddhist religion, represent the high point of Chinese stone carving. Here is the beautifl stone carvings of all kinds of Buddist figures.
